Protesters Threaten to Storm Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport over Unemployment and Corruption Grievances

Protesting youth have threatened to storm the Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport (SSH) should the governor ignore their demands for better employment opportunities, according to media reports on Wednesday, 6 February. The protesters on Tuesday had burned tyres in front of the South Sinai Governorate headquarters and blocked the main road linking Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh. Security forces intervened to prevent protesters from the storming the governorate building. No injuries or clashes were reported.
