Qantas Strikes

The Transport Workers Union of Australia (TWU), representing Qantas baggage handlers and other ground staff, has confirmed that its members will again strike on Wednesday 26 October 2011 next week.

In a notice to the Qantas management the union said that employees would stop work at Sydney, Canberra and Cairns airports on the day.

The stoppages will occur as follows:

• Sydney: Three-hour work stoppage starting at 07h00
• Canberra: One-hour work stoppage starting at 16h30
• Cairns: One-hour work stoppage starting at 07h00
