Strike action in Belgium to affect airlines, trains

Tue, 9 Dec 2014

Airlines and trains cancelled services to Brussels due to a strike by Belgium’s FGBT union yesterday, ahead of another strike – expected to be the last for the year – on Monday, December 15.

Travellers heading to Belgium on December 15 should anticipate delays and transport difficulties and are encouraged to check the status of their flights before departure.

EasyJet cancelled 22 flights and British Airways cancelled 12 due to the December 8 action, and Eurostar cut services to Brussels for the day. Industrial action involving baggage handlers also led to a number of departing flights being cancelled at Brussels' international airport.
