Iceland Volcano Warning

7 December 2011

A large volcano in Iceland is showing signs of activity and could affect air travel in the near future, experts warn. Concerns have been raised over the prospect of a serious volcanic eruption that could have a far worse impact than the ash cloud that crippled air travel across northern Europe in 2010.

If you purchased your travel insurance prior to the issue of the warning, you would be covered for insured events as per the benefits in your policy. If you purchased your policy after the warning, you will not be covered for any claims relating to the volcano.
