What is covered?

1.    Oojah Comprehensive Cover:  Cancel for Any Reason

If you purchased your travel insurance policy within 24 hrs of paying for your trip, and you cancel more than 48hrs prior to your date of departure, we will reimburse up to 50% of your pre-paid unused non-refundable travel and accommodation.  Please download a claim form and submit your claim form, together with the supporting documents.

                                              

2.    Any other policy: Cancel for Named Reason

If you cancel your trip following a terrorist incident in a city listed in your pre-paid itinerary within 14 days of your scheduled date of departure.  The same city must not have experienced a terrorist incident within 90 days prior to the terrorist incident that is the cause of your claim.

Timeline of terrorist incidents in Israel:

·         14 November 2012: Within minutes of the death of Ahmed Al-Jaabari, big explosions were rocking Gaza, as the Israeli air force struck at selected targets just before sundown, blasting plumes of smoke and debris high above the crowded city.

·         On 15 August 2012 two explosions were reported in the Southern city of Eilat. There were no reported casualties. 

·         On 5 August 2012 there was an attack on the Kerem Shalom border post, at the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza.

·         Between 18 and 23 June 2012 a number of rockets were fired into Southern Israel from Gaza following an Israeli air strike that resulted in civilian casualties and loss of life.

·         On 18 June 2012, gunmen passed from the Sinai Peninsula into southern Israel and opened fire on a convoy of construction workers. One Israeli civilian was killed and two others injured.

·         On 19 April 2012 there were reports of an Incendiary Explosive Device (IED) attack on an Israeli Defence Force vehicle in Hebron. There were no reported causalities.

What is not covered?

  • War (whether war is declared or not), hostilities, invasion or civil war.
  • Cancel for Named Reason:  Claims relating to Terrorism due to the fact that the same country has experienced terrorist attacks less than 90 days prior to the latest incident.
  • Any policy purchased after 14 November 2012 (common knowledge of attacks in Israel)
