Fastjet suspends three routes

Tue, 29 Nov 2016

Fastjet has suspended three of its services from December 5. They are Johannesburg-Victoria Falls, Dar es Salaam-Entebbe, and Dar es Salaam-Nairobi.

The airline will issue full refunds to passengers who have already booked and paid for seats on the affected flights. Those on flights from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls will be offered an alternative routing via Harare.
To find out more about the refund process, agents are advised to contact fastjet’s call centre, or its GSA, Aviareps, directly.
In a statement, fastjet said the specific routes were not commercially viable due to low passenger demand and the inefficient use of aircraft.

The suspension is part of the airline’s ongoing financial turnaround programme. This includes a review of its fleet, frequency of flights on specific routes as well as the routes flown.
