FCO issues terror warning for Middle East

24 January 2017

The UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office has issued terror alerts for various Middle Eastern countries, some of which are airport hubs.

The countries listed are Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and the UAE.

The FCO warns that “attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners”. These places include crowded places such as restaurants, hotels, beaches, airports and shopping centres.

Travel agents should advise their clients to take additional safety precautions and remain vigilant in crowded places popular with foreign nationals.
