BA Strike

BA cancels ‘nearly 100% of flights’ due to strike

British Airways has been forced to cancel ‘nearly 100% of its flights’ due to a planned strike by pilots on September 9 and 10.

The airline blames the mass flight cancellation on receiving ‘no detail from BALPA on which pilots would strike, so we had no way of predicting how many would come to work or which aircraft they are qualified to fly’.

The airline has urged passengers whose flights have been cancelled not to go to the airport.

Affected travellers can either rebook on another date or on an alternative airline or take up BA’s offer of a refund. Flights on BA CityFlyer, SUN-AIR and Comair are not affected and BA says it is working with partner airlines to schedule larger aircraft to take the maximum number of customers.

A further strike has been planned for September 27.
